About Me: I consider myself a curious and caring person; I aspire to always improve my understanding of the world around me as I believe curiosity helps make us better people. I enjoy conversation and through that try to center my role as a therapist as someone who helps you to better communicate with yourself and your emotions. As a Two-Spirit person I navigate the world around me by reflecting on the various ways a situation can be perceived by both myself and by others, using that lens to help me ensure my actions align with my values; this approach adds to my therapeutic toolkit by providing additional methods of examining and reexamining the impactful moments of our lives and how the resulting actions influence ourselves and others.
What it’s like in a session with me: I strive to create a welcoming environment for my clients. A secure and safe setting where I can support my clients in meeting their challenges with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. I want my clients to feel seen and validated in who they are in regards to their individual journeys, as such I endeavour to never make any assumptions and maintain space to hold conversations to better understand how a client thinks and feels. I take a conscious approach to engage with my clients through the lens of their lived experiences and perspectives. I collaborate with my clients to form a therapeutic alliance that respects my clients’ autonomy and decision making, forming plans and interventions through conversation and collaboration.
