Professional Interests: The clinical areas of interest Huan-Hsiang focuses on include depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, concerns related to BIPOC identities, Asian/Asian American mental health, LGBTQIA+ concerns, identity development, interpersonal issues, and relationship concerns. Approach to Therapy: Within broad humanistic and multicultural perspectives, Huan-Hsiang’s approach to working with clients is typically influenced by the integrative concepts of existential philosophy, constructivism, and emotion-focused therapy. He believes that individuals have the capacity to cultivate their own strengths to effect positive self-transformation, and he works collaboratively with clients to identify coping strategies as well as to develop skills tailored to meet their unique needs through incorporating techniques from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance, and Commitment Therapy, and other evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Selected Professional Experience: Huan-Hsiang's clinical experience spans New York, Tennessee, Arkansas, Iowa, California, Michigan, and Taiwan. He has worked in diverse settings including university counseling, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient facilities, community family centers and developmental centers for adults and adolescents with intellectual disabilities. He has led various group therapy sessions including men’s therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and support groups for international students and domestic violence survivors. He's presented at professional conferences on topics like LGBTQIA+ issues and recidivism and teaches remote university courses in Taiwan on gender and LGBTQIA+ issues.
