Mental Health Therapist Position
Position Overview: Amplify Colectivo is hiring full-time mental health therapists (limited licensed and/or fully licensed clinical social workers and psychologists) who are diverse in their background, identity, training, and clinical expertise, social justice minded, and ready to be a part of a dynamic, fun, nerdy, and collaborative team. Clinicians of color and Spanish-speaking clinicians are highly encouraged to apply. This is an independent contractor (1099) position.
About Amplify Colectivo: Amplify Colectivo, a group private practice was founded in 2017 with a vision of forming a collective centering BIMPOC therapists that is grounded in social justice principles and anti-oppressive practices. Our mission is to amplify the growth of POC: people, organizations, and communities by increasing access to mental health services and knowledge.
MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
Maintain a caseload averaging 20+ clinical contact hours per week.
Provide mental health services in-person and/or virtually (your choice).
Complete and meet deadlines for clinical documentation. Clinical documentation includes, but is not limited to: intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, termination notes, contact notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Amplify Colectivo or third parties (e.g. insurance companies) in conjunction with the treatment of the client.
Charge, collect, and document payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established by the insurance companies and/or fee-for-service agreement.
Maintain professional, ethical, and continuing education requirements for licensure.
Qualifications & Skills:
Evidence of strong self-awareness of how one’s own identities and life experiences impact counseling strategies and the therapeutic relationship.
Passion for and experience working with clients who identify as BIMPOC and/or LGBTQIA+.
Awareness and experience providing counseling and support to individuals.
Amplifying the growth of POC: people, organizations, & communities communities affected by racial and/or historical trauma, minority stress, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism, ageism, and systemic oppression.
Able to balance working collaboratively and autonomously.
Compassion, humor, and respect for clients and colleagues.
Effectively communicates and engages in principles of mindfulness and radical candor when giving and receiving caring and direct feedback.
Bilingual or Multilingual (not required, but definitely a need in the community).
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.
Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
Active, unrestricted, limited or fully licensed in the state of Michigan (LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, LLP, or LP) or awaiting licensure upon graduation.
